Cleaning Gas Cookers: Part One

After your cookers have either been installed or repaired, you will have to subject them to regular maintenance, and that does include something as simple as just cleaning the oven. Today, we at North West Cooker Repairs are just going go to over the best practices for keeping your oven in the best shape possible, whilst some are more drastic than others, they can all be thought about as preventions to future/further problems.

The first step is the most drastic of all, it would be avoid cooking altogether, it’s a bit impractical, but it technically would be the most effective, it does scale down the process of cleaning. The only issue with this, is if you don’t use it, you will end up spending a lot more money in the long term by eating out all the time.

Secondly; get wiping. If there are any spillages on the inside surface or all and around the cooker, make sure you wipe them up immediately. This will save them from potentially going through the cracks and getting external damage on the system. It will also make them easier through the cleaning process, because a moist stain is easier to deal with that a completely dried one. The best practice would be to use a moist micro-fiber cloth.

The next tip related directly to your oven itself, and that’s, if you’re cooking anything that’s recommended to be cooked for an elongated period of time, make sure that it’s covered in tinfoil or something similar, albeit appropriate. This is so that no excess moisture comes from the air whilst going through the cooking process.

Furthermore; you have to give your system regular wipe downs, to limit the build up of excessive grease. It also helps with being able to see what’s inside your system if you’re cleaning the door in particular, this is just a standard tip for general cleaning.
